It is becoming a well known fact that all too much of science is becoming political. Agenda driven research is bad enough, but when it provides the basis for junk lawsuits it costs all of us real money.

Junk science is questionable, unfounded, or misleading information that is put forth as medical or scientific fact.  It has been at the heart of highly questionable litigation involving such topics as silica, fen-phen and asbestos to just highlight the most obvious.  The unethical personal injury lawyers and the so-called experts they hire are making a mockery of our justice system.  

We shouldn't have to put up with this, but when the politicians, researchers, trial lawyers and agenda judges all conspire together, the average citizen doesn't stand a chance.
